dhikry supports daily Islamic remembrance and private circles. this policy explains the data used for your account, social features, usage analytics and diagnostics.
| data | where it lives | why |
|---|---|---|
| your profile (display name and avatar colour, including a name supplied by your sign-in provider) | our servers (Supabase) | identifies you to people who share your circles |
| sign-in identity and email (Apple, Google or email-code sign-in; Apple may supply a private relay address) | our servers (Supabase Auth) | account access; your email is not shown to circle members |
| prayer sessions & streaks (session type, completion time, tap counts) | your device + our servers | your streak, and so your circle can see you prayed today |
| duas (selected prayer, sender, recipient, delivery and ameen status; older accounts may also have written requests) | our servers | delivers prayers to their recipients and shows who sent them after ameen. the initial hidden-name presentation is not anonymous to our service |
| circle membership (circle name, invite code, members) | our servers | the core social feature |
| timezone & notification preferences | our servers | so reminders and circle nudges arrive at a respectful local hour |
| push notification token | our servers | to deliver notifications you opted into; deleted when you sign out |
| session presence (sharing preference, session type, start and expiry times) | our servers | shows people in your circles when you are currently doing adhkar, when sharing is enabled. this does not share each individual count |
| reports and blocks (reporting account, target, reason and blocked account) | our servers | handles abuse reports and prevents unwanted interactions |
| usage analytics (event, time, platform, random installation identifier and event details, which can include circle identifiers) | our servers | understands feature usage and failures. the installation identifier is not an advertising identifier; event details may be associated with account activity |
| diagnostics (errors, stack traces, device and operating-system details, and sampled performance traces) | Sentry | finds crashes and slow behaviour in production. default personal-information collection is disabled |
you can use dhikry without an account ("skip · save later"). in guest mode your streak and session progress live on your device. the usage analytics and diagnostics described above may still be sent. social features with real people require an account. daily 100 counts are stored on the device and are separate from shared session completion.
account and circle data are stored with Supabase (our database and authentication provider), protected by row-level security so users can only read what they are meant to see. crash reports, when enabled, go to Sentry. both act as data processors on our behalf.
notifications are opt-in. daily reminders are scheduled on your device; circle notifications (e.g. a gentle nudge from a circle member) are delivered through apple's push service using your push token. you can turn any of this off in settings or in iOS settings at any time.
check settings → "share when I’m praying" to see or change your current preference. sharing is enabled by default for the current early-access rollout. when enabled, people who share a circle can see that your morning or evening session is in progress. blocked users cannot see each other's presence. when updates stop, visible presence expires after a short timeout; expired presence records are retained temporarily to prevent delayed network requests from restarting an ended session.
dhikry is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. if you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
you can sign out at any time (this removes your push token from our servers).
open settings → delete account. after you confirm, deletion is immediate and permanent. it removes, on our servers:
two things, for your circle's sake: duas you already sent stay visible to the people who received them, but your name is removed from them. and if you created a circle that still has other members, the circle continues under its longest-standing member. your departure does not delete your friends' circle.
installation-level analytics and diagnostics are stored separately from your account and are not automatically erased by this account-deletion operation. contact us for help with a data-access or deletion request that includes those records.
if you used Sign in with Apple, deleting your Dhikry account does not automatically remove Apple’s remaining sign-in connection. after deletion, the app shows how to remove it in Settings → your name → Sign in with Apple → Dhikry. Apple’s instructions. your Dhikry account deletion does not depend on completing this extra step.
prefer email? we will complete the same deletion within 30 days:

depending on where you live, you may also have rights to access, correct, or export your data (e.g. under GDPR or CCPA). email us and we will help.
if we change what we collect, we will update this page and the "last updated" date before the change takes effect.
